Thursday March 1, 1990

Paul, Linda and the band arrived in Tokyo the previous day. Today, Paul is part of a press conference attended by 800 people, held at the MZA Ariake Theater. After answering questions from the media, Paul sings the track Matchbox. The event is broadcast live on the Japanese Fuji television. When the media have left the theatre, Paul and his band resume private rehearsals, performing Let'Em In, Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Twenty Flight Rock, Lucille, C Moon, P.S. Love Me Do.

Thursday March 2, 1990

Paul and his band continue with further private rehearsals, this time at the Tokyo Dome. During the afternoon, Paul leads the musicians through a complete run-through of their concert repertoire.

Coming Up (March 3), Back In The USSR (March 5), Ain't That A Shame (March 9) and Get Back (March 13) are recorded during the show for inclusion on the live album Tripping The Live Fantastic.

During the show of March 5, Let'Em In is recorded live and will appear as a bonus track on the CD single Birthday released in the UK on October 8, 1990.

During the final three concerts (March 9, 11, 13), Paul and his band perform the new medley track P.S. Love Me Do.

The first concert in Brazil was pencilled in for the evening of April 19 but was cancelled due to heavy rain.

On April 21, the show is attended by 184.000 people, thus establishing a new world record for the largest concert given in the history of rock'n'roll. Eight numbers from the performance are transmitted on April 23 as a show entitled Paul In Rio. The live recording of P.S. Love Me Do from that night will appear as a bonus track on the CD single Birthday, released in the UK on October 8, 1990. The Long And Winding Road is also recorded during that show for inclusion on the live album Tripping The Live Fantastic.
