Wings Tour 1979
After the release of the Wonderful Christmastime single in November 1979, Wings are ready to go on tour. After a live rehearsal at the Liverpool Institute (Paul's school when he was a teenager), Wings start the tour with a concert at the English Royal Court Theater, Liverpool, on November 23rd. The tour lasts a month and ends with the taking part of Wings in a charity concert at the Odeon Hammersmith on December 31st. This show is set up by UNICEF to help people of Kampuchea (ex Cambodia). |
The show performed by Wings during this 1979' UK tour is mainly based upon material from the Back To The Egg album. A very good bootleg album, Wings Last Flight, presents the recording of the two last Wings concerts: at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland, on December 17, and at the Odeon Hammersmith on December 31st. The tracks of this bootleg album are the very tapes McCartney himself recorded for a possible live album of which only Coming Up has appeared as a live single. |
