Peter Best joins
the group who christen themselves The
Beatles for the first time. They have their first trip to Hamburg (Indra Club, The Kaiserkeller and The Top Ten Club) on August 1960. Line-up: John Lennon (vocal, guitar), Paul McCartney (vocal, guitar, piano), George Harrison (vocal, guitar), Stuart Sutcliffe (bass), Pete Best (drums) Amateur record: Summertime (Gershwin) recorded in October by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Walter Eymond.

The Beatles are finally deported
from Germany. They return to Liverpool without
Stuart Sutcliffe who stays in Hamburg and
who is now replaced by Chas Newby
at the bass.
